Question: How would you react, and what would you do, if this happened on next Monday’s Raw?
Two hypothetical situations.
It’s the 900th episode! You’re really psyched about it! And you’re hoping, that somewhere deep inside you, they’ll actually reveal who the new GM is!
Situation 1.) Let’s say we’re told that they’re going to reveal who the GM is, but as Raw keeps going on during the night, they don’t do it. At the very end of the show, finally, Michael Cole gets in the ring and tells us he’s about to reveal who the GM is. He says “the new GM is…” and then the screen immediately fades out, has the Raw logo on it, and the show ends?
Situation 2.) The same situation, but instead, after Cole says “the new GM is…” we get the silly chime and light thing again, Cole goes out of the ring, says “May i have your attention please, i just received an e-mail from the anonymous GM. And i quote, the anonymous Raw GM has ordered me, as well as the rest of the WWE staff not to reveal who the GM is, and if anyone does, they will be terminated from the company.” Same ending: the screen immediately fades out, the Raw logo shows up, and the show ends.
hahah i know it’s a ridiculous question, but how would you react, and what would you do?

Question: Which would you choose?
I have 2 fantastic job offers and can not choose which to accept. Both are for a Recruiter position with staffing/recruiting companies. Please keep in mind, that I am very interested in the “small company” mentality because that typically entails less of a “sweatshop” atmosphere and more likelihood for higher compensation. Also, I am 24 and single. Which would you choose of the following:
Company A:
Company of 20, but only 2 employees in the Atlanta office (where I would be working), this is a good thing, because with only 2 recruiters allows me to take on more job orders which = more $ . The 2 employees are older woman, in different life stages than myself. base salary is $ 5,000 more than Company B. However, commission is forecasted to be half of what can be expected from Company B. Very flexible work hours, work from home allowed at employees discretion (4 times a week if you want!). This is good, but can be bad because working from home causes distraction and not as much productivity for most people. This Company works within the Environ/Eng industry, which I have experience in. Good, because I can hit the ground running much quicker, but bad because that industry did not make me much money.
Company B:
The Company has about 15 employees, all in the same Atlanta office, most of which are young, single professionals like myself which excites me. The base salary starting is $ 5K less than Company A. However, the commission is forecasted to be 2X that of Company A. The schedule is more rigid (7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. is standard). My previous boss (who I love!) is good friends with the company owner. This company is in the IT industry, which I do not have experience in, but IT is a “hot” market to work in. Also, seems more stable than Env./Eng that Company A is in. Competition is much more fierce.
Both companies are offering relatively similar benefit and 401K plans. I know it may be hard to choose based solely on these descriptions, but from what I’ve provided, what would you choose?
Thank you for your input!

Question: What happened to the “big table” Obama promised we would have healthcare negotiations around?
“I’m going to have all the negotiations around a big table. We’ll have doctors and nurses and hospital administrators. Insurance companies, drug companies — they’ll get a seat at the table, they just won’t be able to buy every chair. But what we will do is, we’ll have the negotiations televised on C-SPAN, so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies. And so, that approach, I think is what is going to allow people to stay involved in this process.”

Ironically, not only did it not get on CSPAN (ever) but the drug/insurance companies and lobbyist actually DID buy all the seats at the table.
What happened??
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/18/baucus-bill-sticks-to-pha_n_290639.html
The bill unveiled by Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus has been blasted as a major giveaway to insurance companies. But the even bigger winners are the drug makers.
That’s because the Baucus bill matches up, nearly to the letter, with the secret deal that he, the White House and Big Pharma struck over the summer — a deal the various parties roundly denied had been struck when it went public.
In August, the Huffington Post published a memo that outlined exactly what each side was going to do for the other. And Big Pharma was getting a lot more than they were giving up.
Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America senior vice president Ken Johnson said that the outline “is simply not accurate.” White House spokesman Reid Cherlin concurred: “This memo isn’t accurate and does not reflect the agreement with the drug companies.”
But now that the bill is out, let’s fact check those denials.

At a meeting last April with corporate lobbyists, aides to President Barack Obama and Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) helped set in motion a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign, primarily financed by industry groups, that has played a key role in bolstering public support for health care reform.
The role Baucus’s chief of staff, Jon Selib, and deputy White House chief of staff Jim Messina played in launching the groups was part of a successful effort by Democrats to enlist traditional enemies of health care reform to their side. No quid pro quo was involved, they insist, as do the lobbyists themselves.

Question: What accounting position would you recommend? Staff Accountant at a” Company” OR at a “Public CPA firm”?
I hold a B.S. in Economics and currently searching and deciding on what kind of job I should take as an accountant. I was previously an A/P accountant at a large global cell-phone corporation and the management there was horrible, and i left. I was wondering if do decide on pursuing accounting as a career, which one should be better for my future. I know that I may sound biased as working for another “company” and I have yet to work at an “actual CPA firm” so i was wondering if anyone out there who have experienced both can give me some advice.

If you are a CPA having CPA firm experience is mandatory and you can then go to private industry as management. A/P isn’t accounting it is bookkeeping.
